Advanced Apprenticeships

The Ford Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering has gained a reputation for high quality output, delivering top-class individuals into the business.  The programme equips Apprentices with the practical and theoretical knowledge to drive a successful and fulfilling career in Ford.

Our Apprenticeship programmes attract both males and females from a range of backgrounds to include recent leavers from schools, technical colleges, UTC’s and further education colleges.

IT Degree Higher Apprenticeships

An IT Degree Apprenticeship with Ford Motor Company is an exciting opportunity to pursue practical work experience using world class technologies and processes, alongside academic learning to graduate level

  • Opportunities to study for qualifications without building up student debt.
  • Opportunities to study to degree level and allowing for continuing professional development.

Students who stay in full-time education learn new things, work towards valuable qualifications, and meet a whole new group of people.  Apprentices who choose to begin their career instead will be earning money straight away, picking up all sorts of practical skills, and getting a real head start on people who decide to go the traditional route to University.  An IT Degree Apprenticeship with Ford Motor Company – brings together the best of both worlds.

Advanced Apprenticeships

The Ford Advanced Apprenticeship In Engineering is a dynamic learning programme for individuals who are passionate about Engineering. Designed to combine on and off the job training and develop skills to support the manufacture of the latest Ford Products.

IT Degree Apprenticeships

IT degree Apprentices in Ford work for one of the most exciting manufacturers in the world.  At the same time as learning a fantastic range of new skills they study for a range of qualifications that lead to a degree in IT. Best of all, unlike some of their peers, they won’t be paying their own tuition fees, and they will be earning a salary at the same time as earning their degree.

Entry Requirements for Apprenticeships

Advanced Apprenticeships

For Advanced Apprentices we look for applicants who have, or are predicted to gain, at least 3 good GCSE grades (or their equivalent) including English at grade C or above, Maths at grade B or above and Physics or Double Science at Grade C or above.

Successful Advanced Apprentices from Dunton / Dagenham, South East Essex will go on to complete a four year programme leading to:

  • National Vocational Qualification at Level 2
  • National Vocational Qualification at Level 3
  • BTEC level 2 diploma in Manufacturing Engineering
  • BTEC level 3 diploma in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Functional Skills in Maths, English and Information Technology

IT Degree Apprenticeships

For IT Degree  Apprentices we look for applicants who have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade B or above including Maths, English and Double Science and have or are predicted to gain 3 A Levels at minimum grades BCC or their equivalent (a minimum of 104 UCAS points) one to include a Technology/Science related subject. (BBC grades or 112 UCAS points would be preferred)

Successful IT degree Apprentices will complete a four year programme leading to a full university degree.

IT Degree Apprentices will be part of an exciting and dynamic programme, in partnership with the University of Greenwich that equips Apprentices with both the business knowledge and technical skills that are required to drive a successful and rewarding IT career.  Our programme will compose of carefully selected placements in major global teams across the Ford Information Technology organisation which aligns to the qualifications you will achieve.

Initially this will be within the Software Development Organisation with progression to;

  • Business facing teams planning future IT / strategy and projects
  • Operations teams entrusted with running our most critical systems day to day
  • Our banking subsidiary Ford Credit, where you experience the full use of end-to-end IT

The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) is a world-class research, skills, education and business campus in East London.Engineering Apprentices spend the first part of their career at Ford working full time at the centre of learning.
